Coven

3 weeks and 3 days to create a collection from scratch. Inspired by historical fashion, witch iconography, and the recent revival of interest in L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz, I set forth to pay homage to the divine femininity. Though masked behind a sharp, wicked silhouette, these Witches are nothing to be afraid of. Each garment was constructed using up my stash of silks, chiffons, and velvets bought from my travels. Paris, Los Angeles, Asia, all of these fibers united together to weave my spell. With Limited time, I like to think of this collection as a “Concept”. With the time that I had, especially with the respect to the work I am able to provide, I am deeply proud of this collection. Coven made its Debut at the Persian New Years Festival held at the Alexandria Ballrooms in Los Angeles, California. I was honored to be showcased as a Student Designer thanks to Arizona Fashion Week.
