Bloom

Created during a moment of deep creative crisis. Feeling stifled with the requirements of my education, despite my love and passion for what I do, I decided to vent this frustration through a temporary piece of performance art. Only documented with a handful of photos, I deconstructed a vintage dress with the intention of sculpting a dress that would never be worn. Despite its former beauty, this series of tatters and scraps will never get to experience a life of its own. Before condemning this piece of history, I ensured my intentions were to create something beautiful despite it’s temporary existence. Is the dress worth more in theory? what determines my works value? my ideas or my skills? All of my work stems from similar concepts and questions, and my art is my outlet to communicate these feelings with the world.
